New Releases from Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Coppola Black labelHere are three new impressive releases from Coppola Winery.  All  are red blends, each with their own personality, but also reveal the Coppola style which combines ri,ch flavors, velvety textures, perfect balance, and real drinkability.   And all the wines are offered at terrific prices in view of  their quality.

The Rosso & Bianco shows off the spicy red fruit qualities of Zinfandel.   The Black Label Claret provides a European-style cuvée that is ready to drink,  and the Scarlet Label  offers richness and purity of dark fruit flavors.

Corey Beck, Coppola’s talented winemaker, is able to produce wines of real personality, quality and value.

Coppola 2012 Rosso & Bianco ($9) 88  This Rosso & Bianco is an attractive blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It offers fresh aromas of pure dried plum and has good juicy red fruit flavors on the palate. A wine with a soft round texture, it is easy to drink and enjoy. It is also offered at a great price.  Coppola 2011 Black Label Claret Cabernet Sauvignon ($16) 90  The Claret combines Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It is European-like in its light and elegant nose and earthy fruit flavors. While somewhat restrained in character at this stage of development, it reveals good structure and acidity and a persistent finish.  Coppola 2011 Scarlet Label Diamond Red Blend ($16) 91  The Diamond Red Blend is a delicious combination of Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It displays ripe dark red and black fruit aromas and flavors and is soft and round on the palate. Although it does not reveal a lot of complexity, it has good purity of flavor with hints of chocolate and raspberry, firm round tannins, and a long finish.
