Chenin Blanc from the Loire: Extreme Values from Vouvray, Montlouis, and More

Chenin Blanc not only makes some of the world’s greatest wines, it is also one of the wine kingdom’s most versatile grapes. The Loire Valley is home to Chenin Blanc, and many of its wines are not only of superb quality, they are also excellent values. In our most recent report, Wines of the Western Loire, we found several superb Chenins. The focus of the report is sec and demi-sec table wines from appellations like Vouvray, Montlouis, Jasnières, Savennières, Saumur Blanc, and Anjou Blanc.

Here is just a sample of some of the extreme values we discovered in Chenin Blanc from the Loire. Subscribers to the International Wine Review can see the full set of results, including tasting notes of more than 175 wines in Report #22, which can be downloaded from the i-winereview website.
