The Winery San Francisco: New Releases 2010-2013

imagesSFThe Winery SF is a 20 thousand square foot winemaking facility located on a former Naval Base on Treasure Island, a man-made island that anchors the Bay Bridge midway between Oakland and San Francisco. The wines are crafted by the talented winemaker Bryan Kane, who is best known for  premium wines released under the VIE and Sol Rouge labels. Bryan also makes the wines for Howell Mountain Vineyards.   Reviews of all of these wines  can be found on our blog.

The SF Winery wines are mainly sourced from excellent vineyards in the North Coast, a very large AVA that encompasses Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Marin and Solano counties. The wines are flavorful and easy-drinking and are offered at moderate prices.  We liked the reds more than the whites, except for the superb dessert wine NV Sweet Seduction.  Too bad we didn’t know about it when we wrote our report on Sweet Wines of the World.  The wines are poured at the Winery SF tasting room.
